Sweet Belgian Waffles (Gluten-Free & Low FODMAP)

Sweet Belgian Waffles (Gluten-Free & Low FODMAP)

My son has asked to make sweet Belgian waffles several times, as I always make super healthy waffles or green ones. So on that note, I decided to go into the kitchen to create these yummy waffles. It will not be the last time made again; we all love them.

The sweet Belgian waffles are lovely and soft on the inside and crispy outside; if you are looking for an easy recipe for airy and crispy waffles. Here’s your answer!

You can also go a step further and add vanilla ice cream, which will make them even better.

I served the Belgian waffles with jam, powdered sugar and fresh berries. They are so good for dessert and as precise as authentic Belgian waffles!

I wish you good luck with the waffles!

Ingredients

Scale

3 Eggs

4 tbsp Sugar

3 dl Milk

1/2 tsp Xanthan gum *

1 tsp Baking powder

1 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence

75g Butter

160g Bobs Red Mill 1X1 flour GF *

Instructions

Separate the egg whites in one bowl and yolks in another. Melt butter and put it aside.

Mix the egg yolks with flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla essence and sugar. Stir it all together.

Add milk and whisk everything into a dough.

Finally, whisk in the melted butter.

Whip the egg whites so stiff that you can turn the bowl upside down. Then turn the whites gently into the dough.

Heat this waffle iron. Grease it with butter and pour the dough into your waffle iron.

Bake until golden brown.

Place them on a baking sheet to prevent them from forming moisture on the bottom and becoming soft.

Notes

Eat & Enjoy!

Xanthan gum gives gluten-free baked goods a soft texture and moist crumb that we know from the classic baked goods.

* Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 is a flour blend you use where you usually use wheat flour. I recommend the product, and I order from Amazon & Iherb.
